(Autumn)
The autumn sun;
The chill when it goes
Behind a tree.

The photo was taken very close to Sunset Point at Mammoth Cave National Park, KY, USA.
As we revolve around the sun with our slight tilt, the sun appears to move further south with each day that we approach the winter solstice. As we lose more direct sunlight, we lose more heat. (The earth is the one that actually is moving, not the sun; our tilt, as we revolve around the sun, places the N. Hemisphere away from the sun’s direct sunlight with each day.)

An accurate verse for this morning, here in NI. Although the sun is shining I’m wearing a hat and gloves on my walk today.

A cold rain here in southern KY, USA. You’d be surprised how many people, here, don’t know why it is cold in the winter and hot in the summer! A beautiful verse, David! Thank you for sharing it with us!
