(Winter)
Crunch, crunch —
The horse munching straw;
A snowy evening.
This winter hokku was composed by Kyūkoku and translated by David Coomler. Please, go to this site for more information.
The photo of the horse eating straw on a snowy day was found here.
The sights and sounds are magnified in this winter verse!

Horses are so magnificent! Especially with their winter growth. I love their smell and the way they run! Enchanting animals!

I especially love big Shire horses! The sight, sound and their odour remind me of childhood by the coal yard where horses were used to pull the delivery carts.
