Migrants

(Last Day of Spring)

The end of spring;

A migrant refuels,

Instinctively.

This migratory hokku was composed by Sabishī.

The photo of the Indigo Bunting was taken in southern KY, USA.

Millions of migrating birds at this time of the year stop, often, at stations like this one, in order to keep their bodies refueled. So, make sure you have bird feeders filled for these migrants on the last day of spring.

  1. Keep your bird feeders full during migration time for birds. It’s inexpensive and easy to do and helps them to make it to their destination north. Enjoy this bird activity, especially with children, who will grow up appreciating nature and all she has to offer us. We are part of nature, remember! Teach our children this.
