The Whitethroat

(Summer)

A whitethroat

Bursting through the hedge;

The only sound.

This summer hokku was composed by Clive Bennett.

The photo of the whitethroat can be found here.

I enjoy "hiking" in the woods observing nature, especially the birds, butterflies, mushrooms, ferns, and wildflowers. The interactions among the forest life fascinate me! I enjoy turning my observations into hokku, as well as reading the hokku of others.

  1. I had never heard of a whitethroat until now. It looks like a beautiful warbler. I enjoyed the post, with the painting, the haiku (thanks for letting me transform it), the recordings and the prose. Looks like a great transplant, Clive!
