Watching the Kestrel

(Late Summer)

Kestrel hovering;

My perspective shifts.

Clive Bennett composed this late summer hokku.

The beautiful painting of ‘The Kestrel’ is by David James Woodford, 1970s, oil on canvas.

Can you see the kestrel near the rain clouds? The boy is pointing right at it!

  1. I will be driving down the road, and, once in awhile, I’ll see a kestrel on the side of the road, about 50 feet above the ground, hovering above some potential prey, and I’ll be thinking that the prey has no idea what’s about to happen! It’s very dangerous watching kestrels as you drive! ha Thanks for the summer-ending hokku, Clive!
